Olin's Museum of Covered Bridges invites you to take a walk through America's covered bridges. While visiting the museum, you will learn about covered bridges of the past as well as the present. Enjoy art, artifacts, and educational displays.
Our informational tour is an excellent introduction to the history and basics of
covered bridges for people of all ages. Whether you are new to the covered bridge scene or a seasoned bridge buff, Olin's Museum will prove to be a worthwhile stop on your drive through the bridges of Ashtabula County.
If you are a post card collector, be sure to check our large collection of vintage post cards on display. The museum gift shop features covered bridge collectibles including t-shirts, mugs, post cards, and hand sketched Christmas ornaments.
Located within walking distance just east of Olin's covered bridge on Dewey Rd. in Plymouth Township, the museum is owned and operated by members of the Olin family.

Built between 1840 and 1841 by William and Catharine Hubbard, this house was a Northern Terminus on the Underground Railroad, providing refuge for slaves fleeing to the freedom and safety of Canada. Listed on the US Department of Interior National Historical Register, it contains period furniture and artifacts as well as old maps and photographs of the Ashtabula area. Also on display are selected items pertaining to the Civil War from the Charles Moses Americana Collection.

Housed in the former residence of the Lighthouse Keepers and the Coast Guard Chief, built in 1871/1898. Contains models, paintings, marine artifacts, photos of early Ashtabula Harbor and ore boats and tugs, miniature hand-made brass tools that actually work, and the world's only working scale model of a Hulett Ore Unloading Machine. Provides an expansive view of the Commercial Ashtabula Harbor and actual operating ore boats. Gift shop includes nautical, items and books. Outside displays and picnic tables available.

We are open to everyone, not just Finnish descent.
Visit our log home dedicated to maintaining and preserving the Finnish
heritage in our Harbor and community and Ashtabula County. Built on
the original site of Sovinto Hall 1897-1961. The hall served as a
Finnish temperance society and later a recreational and cultural center.
View family photos, artifacts from harbor, include a vintage rug loom
(1890s) library-archive materials, artwork, and momentos from
Ashtabula's historic past. Learn what contributions the Finns made to
life in America as well as to the City of Ashtabula.
